Police also would not release details of the assault that allegedly happened at Belly Up, where a Sublime tribute band was performing at a sold-out show.

“We're going to be talking to witnesses [Saturday] ...” said Aspen police spokeswoman Blair Weyer.

She also said police will try to obtain security footage of the alleged assault at Belly Up.

Arresting officer Jeff Fain could not be reached for comment Saturday.

Mueller was released after posting $11,000 bond and ordered to appear in Pitkin County District Court on Dec. 19. Mueller's lawyer, Yale Galanter, had no comment, saying he was waiting for more information.

Mordkin is no stranger to the publicity surrounding Sheen and Mueller. On Christmas Day in 2009, Sheen was arrested in Aspen following an alleged domestic dispute with Mueller. Mordkin prosecuted Sheen for the assault on his ex-wife.

“She's obviously a person who attracts a lot of media attention, and we will handle this case just like we handle all cases,” Mordkin said. “She'll get treated like we treat everybody else.”

Sheen, the former star of the hit CBS sitcom “Two and a Half Men,” pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge in an agreement with the Pitkin County District Attorney's Office in exchange for the dismissal of felony charges of menacing and criminal mischief.

Sheen, the former star of the hit CBS sitcom “Two and a Half Men,” pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge in an agreement with the Pitkin County District Attorney's Office in exchange for the dismissal of felony charges of menacing and criminal mischief.

He was ordered to undergo 36 hours of anger management and serve 30 days of probation and agreed to enter a 30-day rehabilitation program.

Sheen and Mueller were married in May 2008 and have twin sons, Max and Bob, who were born in March 2009. The split Hollywood couple continue to battle over custody of the twins.

According to some media reports, Mueller currently has primary custody and the two parents are required to take drug tests as part of the custody agreement. Sheen made the choice to complete an in-home rehab treatment program, in which he publicly dubbed his home at the time the “Sober Valley Lodge.” He attempted to get full custody of the children but was denied. It is not known who had custody of the children the night of Mueller's arrest.

They divorced in February, and Sheen departed the long-running TV show in March during a widely reported personal meltdown.

Mueller has had a checkered past with law enforcement with drug-related problems. She has had various stints in rehab, including spending time at The Canyon rehab facility in Malibu, Calif., in February 2010 and an “extreme” rehab program in Mexico earlier this year.

Mueller has been in the news for partaking in strange behavior.

She was escorted off a United Airlines flight leaving L.A. for Cancun after being described as “belligerent.” It was reported she asked to use the bathroom before takeoff and got upset when a flight attendant denied her. Mueller claims she demanded to be let off the flight.

Various entertainment media outlets also reported Mueller was allegedly photographed holding a crack-cocaine pipe, and also recently attempted to pawn jewelry for cash.

Brooke Mueller, ex-wife of actor Charlie Sheen, was arrested shortly after midnight Saturday at an Aspen nightclub on suspicion of assault and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

At approximately 11:32 p.m. Friday, Aspen Police Department officers were doing a routine walk-through at Belly Up Aspen when a woman reported that an assault had taken place. Police said a woman identified the culprit as Mueller, whom police found shortly after midnight at the dance club Escobar.

Mueller, 34, of Los Angeles, faces a class-four felony charge of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and third-degree assault, a class-one misdemeanor, police said.

Formal charges won't be filed until a later date, said Chief Deputy Assistant District Attorney Arnold Mordkin.

“It is alleged that she had in excess of 4 grams of cocaine, gross weight,” he said, declining to discuss details of the arrest.
